The right front wheel of my car keeps making a cracking sound when im driving especially when turning. Why?
i just bought it, it's a used 2002 honda civic lx with 120k miles on it!

Your CV joint is going bad… I had a honda a few years ago with the same milage. It’ll start to sound like a grinding sound when you turn.

assuming that you’re turning both left and right and hitting bumps or not, the cracking noise you hear is probably the CV joint you may need a new drive axle on the right side since that’s where the noise is coming from. with a 120k miles on it it may have hit a deep pothole or the cv dust boot ripped and moisture got in and resulting in rust.

This is most likely a CV joint failing. These can do this for years or fail completely tomorrow. It’s not really a big job, tho’ I don’t know about civics.

The above answers are correct that the CV joint is bad and instead of just replacing the CV joint replace the complete axle….its cheaper and faster……
